some of you may have noticed that i pulled my whole flickr stream. some thoughtless people stole some personal photos of my children and posted them as their own.
a note from my husband:
TELL OUR STORY, PLEASE, I'M SURE WE'RE NOT ALONE.
GOOGLE.COM is allowing people to steal photos and impersonate children.
We asked them to stop, per their instructions on ORKUT.COM, and they have not.
photos of my young children are still being displayed on this site and it makes me sick.
Who else has been affected by this policy??
Please tell our story so other parents can try to put an end to unauthorized usage... it's theft!
thanks for reading.

That so sucks.. I am sorry to hear this..
I commented on this on flickr but i checked your blog as i was sure you would of mentioned it here to. As i have already said..i am so sorry that this has happened to you again,it must of been bad enough the first time but after all the time and hard work you put into try to have the photos removed..to have it done again must be devistating..i cannot imagine. I will be sad to miss your beautiful images, especially your work photos which are so truely inspiring. I admire your decison,as a mother and artist you must do what is right for you and your family. I hope to see at least i snippet of your work here on the blog..i cant wait to see what you produce next. Im sorry again..and good luck with all you do!

oh and i just have to say..your work photo of the week..surf goddess is absolutely beautiful. Really gorgeous!
thanks elizabeth and elle!
you both know where to find me. :)
my new website will feature a section of my personal work and i will keep it updated. i just have to learn now not to rely on flickr for instant gratification and confidence.
i am really looking forward to keeping up with my blog and making my website the hub of my internet activity.
aloha!
I don't remember how I stumbled across your flickr stream but I am sad to see it go. You really captured some amazing photos with your talent and it is a shame that other would try and capitalize on your work like that and with pictures of your children no less. A sad world we live in that is going to be made a little more dreary in the absence of your art.
good for you for trying to put a stop to it!
Im unsure whether your still logging onto flickr or not so i will just pop a note here aswell...i have been doing my best on orkut to appeal to ppl in order to remove the photos..its of little consequence im sure as there r so many pictures there..but 2 ppl have agreed to and have removed the photos from their profiles. as little as it is..i hope in some way it helps and i hope i can persuade more ppl to do so. If there is anything that i can do..even if it is just continuing to do as i am doing then please let me know. I also wished to get your permission to take a screen shot of your screen shot,in order to add to my blog..for those ppl that view it..in order to try and get the word out there abit more and see if anyone can help.

thank you friends. yes, i am still on flickr. i am just done sharing photos of my children in the public eye. other than my website, you won't be seeing much of my kids.
i will however keep active in groups and posting work.
i have made some incredible friends over the years and will not be giving that up.
to me flickr is a community. thank you for being good neighbors and helping me.
